Stephen Matthew Bray (born December 22, 1980 in New Haven, Connecticut) is an American professional baseball pitcher.

Amateur career

Bray graduated from Branford High School in 1999. Upon graduating, Bray pitched at Norwalk Community College (NCC) and was drafted my the Milwaukee Brewers in 46th round of the June 2000 draft. Bray chose not to sign, and completed his college career pitching for the University of New Haven.

Professional career

Kansas City Royals

In 2003, Bray began his professional career as a part of the Kansas City Royals organization, being drafted in the 14th round (402nd overall) in the June 2003 draft. He played his first season for one of their rookie league affiliates, the Arizona Royals II. In 2004, he advanced to the Class A Burlington Bees and then the Class A-Advanced Wilmington Blue Rocks. In 2005, the Royals switch affiliates at the Class A-Advanced level to the High Desert Mavericks, where Bray began the season. Later in the season, he was promoted to the Double-A Wichita Wranglers and then the Triple-A Omaha Royals. Steve was chosen as a AAA All Star.

Milwaukee Brewers

Bray was chosen by the Milwaukee Brewers organization in the Rule 5 draft in 2006. He was invited to Spring Training where he pitched 0.1 innings and recorded one strikeout. That season, he split his time between the Double-A Huntsville Stars and the Triple-A Nashville Sounds. He spent the entire season in Nashville, recording a 5-2 record with a 1.62 ERA. After playing all of the 2008 season in Huntsville, Bray was released during spring training 2009.

Seattle Mariners

In 2009 Bray played for the Seattle Mariners' Double-A affiliate, West Tenn Diamond Jaxx and the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers. He re-signed with the Seattle Mariners week of November 18-23, 2009 to a minor league contract.
